Using Ginger Essential Oil

In the kitchen it is used to give dishes a unique flavor that can be described as both spicy and peppery. As a healing agent ginger has been used for centuries.
In the 16th century King Henry VIII of England advised the use of ginger to fight the great plague, the Greeks used it as an antidote to many poisons and traditional Chinese medicine incorporated ginger in many of their treatments for a wide range of health issues.
Ginger essential oil is extracted from the entire root of the Zingiber officianale plant by steam distillation. The result of this procedure is a wonderful essential oil that is valued for its wonderful warming and soothing qualities. The therapeutic uses of ginger essential oil are vast and include the following:
1. If you need a boost in your libido ginger essential oil may be for you. There are two different applications that can be implemented for particular therapeutic use. The first is, as a massage oil, use two or three drops of ginger essential oil in one ounce of your favorite carrier oil and apply. The second option is to use several drops of the essential oil in your diffuser.
2. Ginger has been used for centuries to treat respiratory issues; most notably in traditional Chinese medicine. The most effective way to battle respiratory issues, congestion, sore throat, runny nose or sinusitis is to use a few drops of ginger essential oil in a steam inhalation.
3. Stimulating one’s lymphatic system is a powerful step in combating many illnesses and diseases. To help jump start your lymphatic system simply add a couple of drops of ginger essential oil to a cotton ball or cotton pad and dab onto underarms. If you have sensitive skin you may want to dilute with water or a carrier oil prior to application.
4. If you suffer from mood swings or feel unmotivated or generally uninterested it may be time to try some aromatherapy. To feel energized and revitalized try some ginger essential oil in your diffuser or if you prefer try some direct inhalation. For the direct inhalation application put two or three drops or essential oil on a tissue, cotton ball or cotton pad and inhale.
5. For muscle pain or join pain including arthritis and rheumatism, ginger essential oil is a definite must try. A massage application can be used or if you prefer two or three drops in a cold or hot compress.
6. To improve over all circulation or to stimulate certain areas or the body a massage oil application can be implemented.
Ginger essential oil can be safely used by the beginner or the pro. As well for those who are more adventurous ginger essential oil mixes very well with other oils.

It is true that essential oils are highly concentrated and the price can seem a little crazy for such a small bottle but you also have to remember that a small bottle of an essential oil can last months or in most cases years. So in reality essential oils are very inexpensive.
